Study Time

Mr. Fred Smith, the founder of FedEx spoke at a training seminar. MR. Smith had a saying that has stuck with me throughout the years. ” If you ain’t the lead dog the view never changes”. In other words, you will always be looking at someone else’s behind trying to catch up. If you walk the walk, you will always be the lead dog. Misery loves company. Nay sayers would like for you to join them in walking the wrong way through life.

Deuteronomy 28: vs 7-8. The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way, and flee before you seven ways. The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and he will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you. ( The above is mentioned as I’m thinking about the cultural divide in this country, generally speaking the right seems to be after things that will help the United States, the left seems to be denying, deflecting, and obstructing anything that would be good for the United States…. so we have to ask who is our friend and who is our enemy?

Also don’t forget that God’s promises come with conditions: IF we hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord our God, if we observe and DO all his Commandments…. looks like the word IF is very important. IF we don’t meet the conditions we can’t expect the blessings.

Deuteronomy 28 verses 10 and 12: Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you. And the Lord will grant you plenty of goods,in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the Lord swore to your father’s to give you.

As a nation we aren’t meeting the conditions. Our national debt is 20 trillion dollars and counting. We are a nation of borrowers not lenders. This is upside down from what God intended for both Israel and the United States. ( speaking specifically of the United States here).

Of course I realize this is a prophecy made during and mainly for the nation of Israel…. but it is a good set of rules to follow… especially if you want God’s blessing. We are in Dire Straits in this country as far as the political, cultural, and religious divides that are taking us to the verge of Civil War. History has provided many examples of who has done the winning by trying to follow God. Of course I’m talking about the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob…. there is a rising tide, a body of believers trying to sell who they perceive to be the one true God, most know who they are and who they proclaim….. there are lines in the sand, and life and death are the issues…. just look around.

My thoughts provided, and thank you to D. Murray…. for the lead in.
