A Burdensome Stone

Zechariah 12:1-3

Opening comment: “All Peoples and Nations, be careful what you do and say concerning Jerusalem and the Jewish people”.

Zechariah 12:1-3 The burden (oracle) of the word of the Lord for Israel, saith the Lord Which stretches forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.

Behold I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people roundabout, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day I will make Jerusalem A BURDENSOME STONE for all people: All that burden themselves with it shall be cut into pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

Vs 3- And it shall come to pass that in that day a burdensome stone. A stone difficult to lift or move; not a stone to throw.

“Cut in pieces”– ‘lacerated’. Assyria Persia, Rome, Greece, Egypt of old, and in latter days Spain, Portugal, and Russia have been so lacerated on account of their treatment of the Jews.

AGAIN… All Peoples and Nations be careful what you do and say about the Jews and Jerusalem.

Frankly My Dear… some reference material by the great E.W. Bullinger.
