The Serpent Of Genesis 3…Part 9…

Let’s wrap it up… we have made it back to the end of appendix 19 in the Companion Bible… back to where I began in lesson 1.

So let’s repeat a few things one more time… The history of Genesis 3 is intended to teach us the fact that Satan’s Sphere of activities is in the religious sphere, and not the spheres of crime or immorality: that his battlefield is not the sins arising from human depravity, but the unbelief of the human heart.

We are not to look for Satan’s activities today in the newspaper press, or the police courts; but in the pulpit and in professors’ chairs… wherever the Word of God is called in question, there we see the trail of “ that old serpent” which is the devil and Satan…

It is remarkable that the verb NACHASH always means to enchant, fascinate, bewitch; or of one having and using occult knowledge…Gen 30.27; 44. 5, 15…for starters…

So let’s be Frank…. can we possibly arrive at the definite conclusion that the Fall of Man and the human race was / is due to Adam & Eve having eaten apples and being seduced by a talking snake?… my original reason for presenting this material was from a deep concern in my heart, that we havn’t understood the real truth and happenings of what occured in the Garden of Eden… We believe that God through the power of the Holy Spirit is certainly able to protect his Holy Word… having said that, I believe the question has to arise that at some point quite possibly the traditions of men have been at work… and God through his permissive will, allowed translations and transliterations to “muddy the water” so to speak.

I don’t know if I concur with this, but there is a school of thought that the human race would have been thrown into a frenzy, if it was revealed at the beginning that there were two seed lines, one from Satan and one from God…( or put another way Satan seduced Eve,  planting one seed in her… Adam then planted a second seed in her… resulting in a double pregnancy of Cain and Abel)…[ refer to the scripture…[refer to Genesis 3: 15… “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; It shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel”.

Also I find it a little bit peculiar that murder was introduced so early in the first two offspring of Adam and Eve (namely Cain)…ie: Cain & Abel.. it is also noteworthy to mention if you study the genealogies in the New Testament… Cain is not mentioned there… he is however replaced by Seth… so I hope you’ve enjoyed the journey please go back and read lessons one through eight to arrive where we are now… I invite you to visit my blog at… also thanks again to the great E. W. Bullinger & his masterpiece, The Companion Bible… without which the study would have been next to impossible… my comments and interjections are found throughout the study… and are added through my many years of experience, and my desire to share what God has revealed to me with others… and I want to be clear, I don’t claim to have cornered the market on God’s Word concerning the suggestions / potential revelation in this study… perhaps we have to wait until the Thousand-Year  Reign of Christ,  where I’m sure all will be revealed… studies on different subjects coming soon…Frank..

Finally… to use a title from one of Houdini’s posters: I think we are forced to at least consider the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden is…THE MASTER MYSTERY…
