Three Earth Ages?

In 2nd Peter chapter 3, Peter speaks of the Three Earth Ages…

Focusing on 2nd Peter 3:5… For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the Word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:WHEREBY THE WORLD THAT ‘THEN WAS’ BEING OVERFLOWED WITH WATER, PERISHED: but the heavens and the earth ‘which are now,’ by the same word are kept in store, reserved under fire against the day of judgement and perdition of ungodly men.

So far, Peter talks of two earth ages, the world that ‘then’ was and the world that is ‘now’… the third earth age will be the ‘Millennium’ (the thousand year reign of Christ)…ie: after the second coming of Christ and the great wars and the establishment of the Holy City, the New Jerusalem… from which and where, Christ will reign…

Now there’s certain schools of thought concerning the above Scripture…. one of them is that the flood mentioned here was the ‘first flood’…. Noah’s flood seems to be at a different time in the future (but our past) from the flood here referenced… the indication for this is that in this supposed First Flood… “The world that then was perished”…. As We Know, the world didn’t perish ( I think it’s to be understood that the ‘age’passed) in Noah’s flood, certainly everyone did not perish,

the animals and 8 were saved…. so there’s a dispute…

I don’t know if we can know on this side of eternity, exactly if there was one flood or two, we certainly will know on the other side… there are good people on both sides of this flood issue, and we will not throw the whole of Scripture out, over a debate over this and many other issues… we must keep our faith… we will know details eventually and soon…

2nd Peter chapter 3 goes on to talk about a new heaven and a new earth, and the old heaven and earth being destroyed (vs 12 & on)… some say this will be a refurbishing… read 2nd Peter chapter 3 on your own and make your own evaluations, praying for the guidance of the Holy Spirit… visit me at my blog…littleraventhepoet.blog… Sincerely, Frank Payton.
