Here is what God has placed on my heart and in my spirit this morning.
Can you hear the beautiful sound of the ancient Shofar echoing through the desert?… symbolically echoing through the apathy and confusion of some Christian lives?… sometimes a call to battle… sometimes a call to worship, sometimes a call / alert to other important events upcoming or currently in our lives.
I don’t know about you friend but I’m concerned, disturbed, sometimes depressed, sometimes elated… sometimes proud… sometimes apathetic, sometimes inspired to be a warrior… sometimes frightened and confused, about all the hatred, evil, loss of respect for God…for life, and for ‘Mankind’ in general…. and I don’t think it’s abnormal to feel this way… I think it’s quite normal….us being in our Human Condition… and viewing world events.
So I must ask this question….as you go and read Matthew 24… and look at this chapter like a lawyer, an investigator, a researcher and a Seeker of Truth…. ‘Are we in this generation… that is the generation since Israel became a nation in 1948… are we the generation of THE PARABLE OF THE FIG TREE?… those that possibly will not see death ( but will be “changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye”, as God’s Word says)… until all the things of Matthew 24…& (Thessalonians 1 & 2 take place?)’… remember a generation can be 40 years…70 years…80 years (ref: Moses) or a hundred and twenty years… so think about this and do some math in your head, come to your own conclusions, as I am not a date setter… but I am a discerner.
Do you remember reading books like “1984”….”Left Behind”…”Lord Of The Flies”….. John Bunyan’s “Pilgrim’s Progress”…. and books of this type concerning end time events?…. were you around to read the books of the 90s, telling / warning of the coming persecution that we are now experiencing?
So there is so much to think about as we all care about our families, our futures, our jobs, our childrens health, safety, education and our ‘calling’…. how it is that we can serve God?…. I find myself in prayer pretty much daily… and ask God to illuminate my mind and put in my heart and mind what He would have me do…. perhaps this is a good suggestion for all of us… be we leaders, Pastors, or just caring people… that’s all for now… but I know in my life I’m continually trying to trust God more and more, because we do have a great hope… keep the faith and maybe visit me at my blog….littleraventhepoet.blog…Sincerely, Frank Payton.
