As I was reading the below scriptures, I thought how appropriate for our culture today… as you are reading this, I want you to think about the situation with our police and policing in general… & people that are in power, in positions of governorships, mayorships and the like…. and I might add that some that are in governorships and mayorships need to be put out…voted out of office….
Romans 13:1-7…. Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers.( So immediately, as you look around at US government, and even world government, how many people are actually subjecting themselves to the higher powers?) Are the likes of Deblasio and Cuomo subjecting themselves to the higher powers?…. Pelosi, Schumer, Schiff…. members of the DOJ… FBI?… so this is all very idealistic of me, to think that they should all be doing good, huh?…. how about the risk of them bringing damnation upon themselves and on us?
We (society) are off on the wrong foot before we even get to verse two of this scripture in Romans 13)… but let’s continue….For there is no power but of God, the powers that be, are ordained of God….. let’s look at the meaning of ‘ordained’…. established by order… decree or law… we have problems with making the laws… with upholding and enforcing the laws, and people respecting the laws that already exist… and a lot of people in positions of leadership that are not setting an example by obeying laws themselves, & thinking they are above the law.
Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation….(well friends that sounds pretty serious to me)… so pay attention to this next verse it is very critical: For RULERS ARE NOT A TERROR TO GOOD WORKS, BUT TO THE EVIL…. let’s repeat this in today’s English….”People that are doing good are not terrified by rulers… only people that are doing evil are terrified by rulers.”… or a meaning very close to this…. continue to the next verse.
“Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? Do that which is good and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake…For (for this cause) pay you tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing….Render to all… their dues: tribute to whom tribute… is due…. custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour…. Now read verse 8 on your own….NUFF SAID…. visit my blog….littleraventhepoet.blog………….Sincerely, Frank Payton.
