John 1– In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was at the beginning with God. All things were made by Him and without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in the darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Further: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Important note: Study The Gap Theory, concerning what happened between vs 1 of Genesis and vs 2.
It is a scholarly belief that Genesis 1 verse 1 encompassed an entire Earth Age before going on to Genesis 1 verse 2.
Let me explain: Genesis 1 vs 2 picks up with what we know as the 2nd Earth age that we are currently living in. This is based on the close examination of the words Was and Became.
Vs 2: And the earth “was” without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
Now correctly interpret the translation of the word WAS, into BECAME. AGAIN VS 2 — And the earth BECAME without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
So, the question should be, does God make anything that is without form and void? Or, did something else happen that has not been revealed/understood to the fullest extent? ( That something being a judgment upon an age, the first earth age, because there was a war/ rebellion in heaven) Study Genesis vs 1 “The world that then was.” 2nd Peter 3: 5, 6 , Creation in eternity past to which all fossils and “Remains” exist.
Genesis 1 vs 2: the spirit of God moved — “The beginning of the heavens and earth which are now.” This is the age ( the current second earth age we live in now) where the story of Adam and Eve begins. Some scholars say this beginning was approximately 4003 B.C.
The third earth age is soon coming, The Thousand Year reign of Christ from the New Holy City of Jerusalem, arriving after the Tribulation Period, The Rapture, and the Second Coming of Christ.
This is fairly deep water, I hope it leads you to wade in and search for yourself.
