I was just sitting here thinking, getting ready to do some reading in Michael Heiser’s fabulous book : The Unseen Realm. Ref: Part 4– pg 160.
I was going over a paragraph, I had read in my last visit to this book. It was addressing the meaning of Romans 4:13.
For the promise to Abraham or to his descendants, that he would be heir of the world [Greek: kosmos] , was not through the law, but through the righteousness of faith ( Romans 4:13). We must understand that we cannot work for our salvation. We must ask ourselves, if we could earn salvation, why did God allow His only begotten Son to die a horrible death on the cross?
A few observations: Abraham was not only the father of Israel but of many nations. Paul’s point looks back to his theology in Galatians 3, where all believers, Jew or Gentile, are “Abraham seed” Galatians 3:26-29.
Glorified believers: Abraham’s offspring becoming “heir of the world” speaks to the rulership of the nations by those offspring. The corrupt divine sons of God of Deuteronomy 32:8 would be displaced by the new divine sons of God — glorified believers. Believers are Yahweh’s children. Remember the merging of humanity with the divine presence back in Eden. So, we are “sharers of the divine nature.” ( 2 Peter 1: 4 ) Remember also one day we will be made like Jesus, ( 1 John 3: 1–3; 1 Corinthians 15: 35 to 49) Believers ( the spiritual offspring of Abraham) will reverse the disinheritance of the nations along with the curse of death that extended from Eden’s failure.
Friends, Do you know what this means? Can we comprehend what this means? To me this means that there is a fantastic “near beyond belief” ) purpose to our lives on this earth. A purpose to our pain and suffering of this flesh, blood, and bone experience. A comfort to all of the loss that we experience in this lifetime. Earlier in this post we learned about “glorified believers.” Do we realize that God sees beyond our shortcomings, sin, failures, and beholds us ( from His eternal perspective) in “our glorified state?” God knows what we are in our current physical configuration, but he also sees us as we will be, like Jesus.
Grasp these concepts and realize that a relationship with Christ is true freedom. I don’t know about you, but I want to live out the days that God has given me; but I long to be released from the spirit of lawlessness, chaos, disease, deception, and death in this world. See if you can grasp the meaning of this last statement I will make for now: “Let God be true and every man a liar.” Frankie The Earthman. Friends, do not make the mistake of thinking our government can be God. You will be disappointed, and miss out on the great gifts and plans that God has for us. Think about it, what does the ‘big government plan of the democrats’ offer us here in America? What they are currently offering is stripping us of everything that is American.
