This is lesson #1 of a yet to be determined number of studies centered around “Ages and Dispensations.“
It is very important to know which age we live in.
Two words: “age” and “dispensation” do not mean the same thing, nor are they even related. Age is a period of time, dispensation is stewardship occurring within time. So there are ages and dispensations within ages.
You might be asking why even bother with understanding why ages are important. They are important to understand where we are on God’s prophetic timetable.
Understand, the ages began at the time of the creation of the heavens and the earth. It makes perfect sense that the beginning of dispensations occurred at the same time. Understand this also, the earth is but one province in God’s universal kingdom. It seems that there would have been at least one dispensation maybe more, that falls within God’s economy; in association with Satan being placed over the earth as it as its first provincial ruler. This happened at a time preceding Satan’s fall and man’s subsequent creation. This could have involved more than one age. Ref: ‘The Gap Theory’ ( Genesis 1:1, In the beginning God-created heavens and the earth.) ( pause) Between versus 1 and 2 of Genesis 1, Satan was the first provincial ruler of earth. Beginning with verse 2 of Genesis 1, the earth was restored and this second earth age that we live in began on approximately 4003 BC. 2 Peter 3: 5>.
I will stop at this point and let you digest what I have put forth. Before you discount any of this you’d better check for yourself, I have been studying this most of my adult life and believe I have, along with others found some answers. This ‘mystery’ which I will talk about in the second lesson, came from Paul, as God revealed certain things to him. These things were a mystery ( musterion: Greek ) in the first earth age but have been revealed in the second Earth age. Again 2 Peter 3: 5 and on. Frankie The Earthman.
