The scene in which John is beholding a worship service takes place in Revelation chapter 5, Frankie.
The Lamb was standing at the throne surrounded by the four living creatures and the elders. There were some unusual physical properties to the Lamb – seven horns, which represent His complete power, and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God, or the Holy Spirit, whom we spoke of earlier. Reaching toward the One who sits on the throne, the Lamb removes the scroll from His hand. The place erupted! ( Amir, T.)
The wondrousness of seeing the Son who has the Holy Spirit resting on Him receiving the scroll from the hand of the Father dropped creatures and elders alike to the ground. The triune God united in person and purpose right before their eyes. Spontaneously worship burst forth. The creatures and elders each held “golden bowls full of incense which are the prayers of the saints.” ( Revelation 5: 8). *Note: Do you know, believer, that our prayers go up to God and are as a ‘pleasant’ incense to Him. Also, it seems they are stored away. * Frankie.
Continuing in Revelation 5: In a great balancing feat the creatures and elders held the bowls of incense in one hand and a harp in the other with a divinely given skill, they began to pluck the strings. Then the voices joined together in a melody that, in part is awe struck hymn and part love song— You are worthy to take the scroll, and open the seals; for you were slain, and have redeemed us to God by your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on earth. The chorus of worship begins to expand and grow. Imagine yourself at David Geffen Hall in New York City’s Lincoln Center. The song that they sang was pure love and praise for the Lamb: Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom , and strength and honor and glory and blessing! This led to the ultimate crescendo that included “every creature which is in heaven and on earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them” ( verse 13) There is not one person, mammal, bird, reptile, fish or insect that did not participate in this next chorus. I admit that I do not know what this will look like. Will every person be singing and every dog barking and every bird tweeting and every fish glugging and every insect buzzing the following words? Will the supernatural fact of their creation and very existence cry out this refrain? Will they suddenly all become like Balaams’ donkey and sing with the voice of humans? I have no idea, but I can’t wait to hear it. (Amir T.)
What is it that this creation – wide choir sang?
Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever! ( verse 13)
Dear friends and foes, I will live out the days that God has placed on the calendar of my life. But I so long for the “here after.” In case you haven’t noticed, ‘we’ are on the decline as a nation and a world. We have virtually kicked God out of everything and made ourselves to be gods. This assumption to be God is a “bridge too far for mankind.” The end of an age is approaching. Notice, I didn’t say, “The end of the world is coming,” because at most, to use this commonly used phrase, it would be better said this way: THE END OF THE EVIL OF THIS WORLD Age IS COMING. Also, know this, as it is prophesied in God’s word. God’s dealing with the end of evil and the devil will come at an extreme price. There are going to be horrible wars. As I have mentioned it many times, the Tribulation Period is coming. I believe it is Scripturally correct to say that the Church will be gone in what is commonly called the “Rapture.” As I said, Evil and Satan will have to be dealt with, and it will be very destructive and deadly to those remaining on the earth after the Church is gone. Please remember this is not some wild story that I have concocted in my head. It is scripturally sound. To summarize, God will intervene halfway through the Tribulation Period, in His second coming, bringing His wrath. All will be renewed, Jesus, sweet Jesus, will take back what is rightfully His. He will rule out of the New Holy City coming to jerusalem. Frankie.
